LOCAL AFTER-SCHOOL RESOURCES: There are a wide variety of free or inexpensive
programs for youth in Cambridge.

Parks and playgrounds are maintained
throughout Cambridge including tot lots, basketball courts, tennis

Cambridge Youth Program serves pre-teens and teens
at five youth centers and serves youth ages 9 - 19. Centers use
two distinctive program models: the Leadership Program that focuses
on pre-teen (9-13) members, and the Teen Evening program that works
with older youth (14-19). Programs include employment assistance,
homework help, literacy program, life skills workshops, guest speakers,
community service projects, drug and alcohol prevention programs,
recreational activities, sport leagues, trips and special events.

The Cambridge Community School program serves residents of all ages. These services and activities enhance health, learning, creative expression and the sense of community. The Middle School Partnership offers middle school students a safe place to meet, learn and express themselves. Students play an active role in designing program activities. The program is free and runs from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
